Excellent food as usual but occasion was spoiled by very poor service. Pleasant location but difficult to impossible to access for the physically less able, and owners could do a lot more to make the toilets more accessible for these, mainly elderly, customers who are at least able to climb the stairs. Wheelchair accessibility: Impossble

Busy noisy restaurant but full of happy people, eating amazing food. One of the best views and the staff are lovely. A really nice lunch venue

Visited during the week when it was quiet and lacked atmosphere. Food is pleasant but portions are small. The waitresses were very polite and friendly.

Food was a little disappointing, to be honest. Had the beef burger. Was on the cold side dry and tasteless & dry and you get about 8 chips. The starter was nic, butt this does not warrant for a return trio.

What a great find! Sadly, the actual entrance to Seashells Restaurant is incredibly shabby (needs a sweep, a good coat of paint and maybe a heavy planter?) - so much so that we nearly decided to give it a miss but having phoned to check that they could indeed do #glutenfree fish & chips - we went in. Fabulous location overlooking #waterfront & Hythe Pier with views right across to Southampton! Great #gf fish & chips, but also quite extensive menu. Staff very friendly and helpful. The owner really should do something about the entrance - it lets restaurant and their team down. Dietary restrictions: Staff knowledgable and helpful.

Lovely views, great food and reasonably priced. Staff were a bit slow and spent a lot of time stood around chatting at the bar while guests were waiting to be seen/pay! But were very friendly and polite when serving and talking to customers.

Why would anyone give more then 3 starts to this place? Don't get me wrong, there is technically nothing wrong with the place but it's just OK... Location? Really bad on the first floor. Decoration? Early 80's and hasn't changed since.. View? You will love it if you keep your eyes closed... 😂 Food is fine, nothing special really, we were a group of 6 and everything was pretty average in taste and presentation. It was pasta with seafood, some pork and some starters. Service? Was fine, we got served the wrong wine twice, and the bottle came open, which is never a good sign... We were seated by the toilets when we had asked when we did the reservation for a table by the windows, and despite repeatedly asking to move, we were there all the time... I don't know, maybe I was expecting something better but I left really disappointed and didn't really enjoy the meal, which wasn't cheap at all...

Overlooking Southampton Water towards Western, this first floor restaurant is a good place to eat, drink and look across the water with passing shipping. The food is good with no complaints. Plentiful seating in and, an outside terrace also. Staff are friendly and attentive.
